Binnies from/through Illinois

My father, Wesley Alexander Binnie (b. 07/05/1914) died in 1967 (Lyon, Nv) when I was a small child. My mother has no knowledge of his family other than that he had a sister. I am having a hard time tracing any information. I know my father and his family lived in Kane County, Illinois and they were farmers. His father Edwin Binnie came from Scotland.

Other than that, I am stumped. Any suggestions on how I can find my family? Any suggestions are most appreciated.
