Homer Parry Conroy
Posted by: Bob Conroy (ID *****3877) Date: January 09, 2007 at 07:30:03

I'm looking for the parents of Homer Parry Conroy, born May 14, 1889 in Illinois, died June 14, 1969 in Columbus, Wisconson. Married Rose Bott of Danville, Illlinois.

The family story goes that either Homer's father or grandfather changed the name to Conroy because he had been "black-listed" from working on the railroad in southern Illinos because he had participated in a wildcat strike. Having no other trade skills, he moved north, changed the name and went back to work for a railroiad company. Homer, himself, worked for the EJ&E railroad in Joliet, Illinois.

Any help or clues would be appreciated.
