Don't know if this helps, but I am pretty sure this is his daughter-in-law's obit... possibly the same cemetery?
Treva Ele, 79, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at VIP Manor in Wood River.

A daughter of Lawrence and Viola (Alexander) Thornton, she was born July 25, 1924, in Shoal Creek, Ill.

She married Wilbert Earl Ele on Oct. 4, 1946, in Alton. He died Oct. 2, 1974.

She was employed for 13 years as floor superintendent at Synder Department Store.

Surviving are three daughters, Wilma Heath of St. Peters and Delores Ele and Stephanie Cannon, both of Alton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Herschel and Karen Ele of Westland, Mich., and Wilbert Ele Jr. of Alton; four grandchildren, Lisa Malson and her husband, Justin, Elizabeth Ele, Sarah Heath and Marshall Heath; two great-grandchildren, Tristan Malson and Jacob Heath; a sister, Freda Buckley of Benld; and three brothers, John Thornton of Medora, Jim Thornton of Blue Springs, Mo.,and Clarence Thornton of Gillespie.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kay Cravens.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, where the Rev. Orrin Anderson will officiate at services at 1 p.m. Monday.

Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.

The American Diabetes Association has been named as a memorial.
