- there's a Katie Marshall d. in 1918 in Chicago here, could this be her mother? Are you sure you have the right marriage date? - if your mother was 3 years old in 1920 that makes her born about 24 years after the marriage - not impossible but quite unusual unless Katie was very young when they married.
