Indexed in 1900 as Mary A. Image shows there was an error on her middle intial and so the letters E and A are written, but one over the other, but unclear as to which one is supposed to be the correct one. Her parents reputed to have been born in Ireland.

Cannot locate this family on census. The home they resided in in 1880 was not enumerated out in 1870, the residenceoccupants left blank, but not shown as unoccupied or vacant. I cannot locate him anywhere near his 1860 neighbors either.

1860
Thomas Peacock Chicago Ward 7, Cook, IL 30 1829 Ireland Male Clerk $500
Elizabeth Peacock Chicago Ward 7, Cook, IL 25 1834 Ireland Female
John Peacock Chicago Ward 7, Cook, IL 1 1858 Illinois Male

It looks as if Mary's mother was an Elizabeth, who died between 1860-1880, then Thomas remarried to Ann.

Not my line, just doing a lookup for you...
