My grandfather was born in Listowel, Co Kerry, in 1878. His family all emigrated to the US, save John Joseph who came to England. His father may have been William Joseph Godfrey. My father's name was also John Joseph, born in 1914. I know that members of my grandfather's family were living in Chicago up to the 1950's but all contact has since been lost. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
