From Aug. 5, 1888 Quincy, Ill.--
A serious shooting affray occurred in this city at 5 o'clock this afternoon. Three young boys, Otto Bergmann, Herman Kempe, and Edward Hagebarumer, were discrovered at that time trespassing on property at Kaiser's Garden and taking apples from the orchard. Nicholas Roder, a watchman at the place, approached with a double-barrel shotgun and emptied its contents in the 3 young fellows, inflicting serious wounds. The boys were taken to their homes where physicians have since been busy in extracting shot. Roder was promptly arrested and is now lodged in the police station.
