Tony (Anton) Gilbert Stava was my father. He was born in Athens, Wisconsin March 18, 1915 and died December 18, 1964 in Grants Pass, Oregon. His parents, Anton August Stava born June 1, 1874 Chicago, Cook County Illinois and Anna Soucek born March 4, 1877. They were married April 26, 1898, in Chicago, Du Page, Illinois. Tony had seven older sisters. They were Josephine (Mrs. Jack Prohaska), Betty (Mrs. Jack Koukol), Agnes (Mrs. Stewart Gutenberger & Mrs. Jake Shafer), Anne (Mrs. Walter Johnson), Julia (Mrs. Alex Cichon), May (Mrs. Leo George Prohaska & Mrs. Charles Hynek), and Rose (Mrs. Glenn Wescott). Julia Cichon is the only one remaining at 95 years old. Anton Stava died September 1933 in Athens, Wisconsin. Anton had at least two brothers and one sister. They were Joseph; b. August 23,1874, Edward; b. 1879, Frank; b. 1879, Mary; b. 8/18/1884, and August; b. 1886. All born in Chicago, Illinois Anton's father was August Stava born 1845 in Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic, and died March 6, 1921 in Athens, Wisconsin. He married Antoniette Pleseh 1870 in Czecholslovakia. She was born 1845 in Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic, and died Sept 1920 in Berwyn, Illinois. Anna Soucek died in Oct 30, 1934 in Nampa, Idaho. Tony, my father, accompanied her body back to Athens, Wisconsin for burial.
