This is from a Wisconsin Newspaper..The Secondary headline is Chicago Woman to hang for Murder of Husband--Electric Chair for New York Female---Chicago July 10, 1923
Twelve Jurors branded Mrs Sabelle Nittl "husband killer"and established a precedent for the state of Illinois by giving the death penalty to her ------------found guily in the murder Frank Nittl. The jury then returned a death verdict for Peter Crudelle; Mrs. Nittls' co-defendent , former lover, and 2ed husband. A few hoours earlier, in new York City, Mrs. Anna Buzzi was sentenced to die in the electric chair during the week of August 6 for the murder of Frederick Schneider, with whom she had lived for 8 years.
The Cook county jury heeded Prosecuter Milton D. Smith's closing argument to"forget the defendant is a woman," and gave her the noose after deliberating only an hour and forty-seven minutes. But at midnight no had been found willing to tell Sabelle that she was the first woman in the state to have a hangman's noose made legally ready for her.
