The town is right as far as i can tell. In 1867 a Cornelius Whalen is living in Fidelity and his son Thomas was baptized at St. Francis Xaiver in Jerseyville.
But in the 1870's he should still have been married to an Elizabeth Lannon and have a 3 yr old son Thomas F. Whalen.
