Daniel Thurman, A Gun Slinger?????

Does anyone know of the story of a Daniel Thurman being a gun slinger and a gambler? He was suppose to have lived in the Chicago area in or around the year of the late 1800's and early 1900's and later moved to a town in Missouri by the name of Sikeston. Can any one shed light to this story?
