Thomas Morgan's family lived in Henderson County, Illinois( Oquaka post office) and eventually moved to Columbus City, Louisa county, Iowa after 1860. Nancy Morgan, wife of Thomas, is buried at the Columbus City Cemetery along with David Morgan and his wife. Are David and Abraham brothers? Thomas is buried in Eliza Creek Cemetery, and I assume after he died the family moved in with David. The 1860 census has Nancy A. age 76,born in Penns.living with David and also has a Mellisa Morgan, age 20 living with them as well. The oldest son of David and Margaret, his wife, is Thomas, age 19 born in Illinois, followed by James, age 16, born in Illinois; followed by Charles, age 13, born in Illinois and daughter Elzetta four months, born in Illinois. The have what appear to be a couple of servant girls Hester Frances, age 16 born in Illinois and Martha Campbell, age 19 born in Illinois. I am assuming Mellisa is a relative but out of order for a blood family member of David. As near as i can tell, Thomas, son of David, lost an arm at the Battle of Belmont, Missouri fighting with the 7th Iowa Infantry. He was discharged in 1862 and eventually moved to Des Moines, Polk county, Iowa and is buried in Des Moines. Charles had a son, David, who lived in Lone Tree, Johnson County, Iowa and had one son, Walter Glenn Morgan. I am still working on some of the others. I believe James settled in Linn county and was a horse doctor in Center Point, Iowa. Elzetta I believe married a Rawhouser, but still incomplete. Let me know if we have something to work on together! According to the census both David and Margaret were born in Ohio.
