James W. Calvert Obituary

JAMES W. CALVERT
James William Calvert was born July 14, 1876, near Hillsboro, Kentucky, died at his home in this city, March 11, 1931, after an illness of several weeks from heart trouble and complications, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 27 days.
Deceased was a son of James and Nancy E. Calvert who died in his infancy.He was reared by his aunt, Mrs. Emma Hedges, who now resides in Zephyr Hills, Florida.
He was married to Miss Edith M. Crawford in November 1896, at Hillsboro, Kentucky.Later the family came to Illinois and have resided in this city for many years.
He was a member of the Christian church, I. O. O. F. and the United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edith M. Calvert, and five children, Mrs. Everett Hall, Alton and Merrill, of Athens, Raymond of Peoria and Floyd of Bushnell.
Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at the Athens Christian church, Rev. W. M. Groves of Petersburg officiating.
Interment will be made in the Hall cemetery.
