Diana,
There were three Civil War Soldiers from the Thomas BARNES & Julia MOORE family.
They were:
1. Sgt. Charles C. BARNES who was mortally wounded at Vicksburg, Miss 22 May 1863
and died 1 June 1863.
2. His brother, Walter B. BARNES is said to have been wounded at Vicksburg.
3. And the youngest brother, Pvt. Enos H. BARNES was killed in action at Vicksburg 22 May 1863.
There were other children including 2 brothers and 2 sisters (and 1 brother d. infancy) who are not represented in the 1850 census.
