I do not know the father of one of my ancestors. Laura Emerine (Shirley) Vest was born 12 Apr 1844 in Barren or Hart County, KY and died 14 Jan 1888 in Macomb, Mcdonough, IL. I have a picture of her headstone from the web and a copy of her death notice from the newspaper, but it doesn't name her father. She doesn't have an Illinois state death certificate that I could find. Would there be death records at the county that might tell who were her parents?
I would surely appreciate any help that could be given on this. Thank you.
