Hi Folks, I'm looking for Margaret Elizabeth Brown, born about 1834 in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of Irish immigrants Robert and Rachel (Bowman) Brown. Margaret's father died, and she came to Illinois with her sisters Catherine (married Nelson G. Porter), Sarah (apparently died soon after their arrival 1851 or so), her brother James (might have lived in Walnut Twp, died in Civil War) and her mother, Rachel Brown (may also have lived in Walnut, died between 1855-1860). Margaret married George W. Hill. He died within a week of his infant son, Robert, in 1855. Margaret remarried to Richard N. Cunningham, who joined the Army Civil War and deserted her and the Army in Arkansas. He was never heard from again, and Margaret just disappears. It is believed that she is buried in Old Macomb cemetery between her first husband, George Hill and their son, Robert. Margaret was pregnant with her second son at the time of George's death. He was William Henry Hill, who grew up to marry Nancy Jane Mullen. I would love any help at all. Does anyone remember Margaret Hill who married Fred O. Cobb? Thanks!
