Greetings:
.
A kind-hearted person by the name Harlene Soper Brown recently responded to one of my (Dabney) GenForum posts; and, in doing so, provided me with a virtual "treasure-chest" of information about my Overstreet / Hall / Dabney ancestry.
As a result, some of the unanswered questions about my LOGUE ancestry are now more clear.

In turn, I would like to pass this kindness along to others.

For anyone who may have ancestors in these familial lines, I will now attach the GenForum correspondence (and, website links), at the bottom of this page.

Greetings, Harlene:

Wow.
Oh, my goodness.

I just finished reading your September 6th GenForum post (attached below); and, even though I have only just begun to explore the stunning website referenced in your recent post -- I had to stop reading for a moment, to send a joyous note of ~ THANKS ~ ... ! ! !

I want to tell you that I am overjoyed by the "treasure" that you have shared.
I cannot adequately express my delight, and gratitude.

F.Y.I.:
Yes indeed, this wonderful (online) book traces the history of *many* of my Hall & Overstreet ancestors!
And, I utilized the "Every-name Index," and discovered that great great grandmother, Tabitha HALL (wife of John Richard LOGUE), is listed on page 131.
And equally amazing -- my DABNEY ancestral line is also referenced! The genesis of 'Debney' in my great grandfather's name (Re: Oliver "DABNEY" Logue) now makes perfect sense.

"THE HALL AND OVERSTREET FAMILIES" book that you referenced in your post also makes a brief reference to an individual with surname of "Lane."
The surname of Jonathan Richard Logue's wife, Isabel, is unknown. However, it has been speculated that she may have been Isabel LANE -- as the Logues lived next door to a particular Lane family prior to their migration to Illinois.
And, according to the Hall / Overstreet book, it appears that these families
(Overstreets, Halls; Logues & Lanes), ALL lived in the *general* area after they migrated to Illinois.

Makes me wonder if yet another puzzle piece is now within reach...
:-)

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
As you might guess, I'm now going to read more about *our* ancestors ... !

.

Take care, and
May God bless you and those you love...

Most sincerely,

Cathy PORTER-Maynard (Ver-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-y Happy -- In Minnesota)... ! ! !

This site (which I found earlier this evening) will tell you much of what you want to know about the Dabney, Overstreet, Hall connection. My husband descends from the Overstreets & Hailes.
