Does anyone know anything about the "ME Church, old cemetery just north of the seminary?" It was mentioned in an obituary of 1875. I am trying to locate my ancestors who is buried there. The obit is for Mary A. Smith. She and her husband both died in Marshall Co and I know Mary is buried there wherever it is and I feel her husband is possibly there also.
Mary A. Smith, died March 22, 1875 in Marshall Co. Illinois. "One of the oldest settlers of Whitefield near the red schoolhouse died at son's home on Monroe St., James F. Smith. Buried in old cemetery north of the seminary."

"Mrs. Mary Smith, one of the oldest settlers in Whitefield, near the Red Schoolhouse, died on Wednesday night of last week, at her son's house in this city. Mr. James F. Smith's on Monroe St . She was the mother of Mortimer, James, Charles and John Smith, and Mrs. Annie Lampman, wife of Henry Lampman, living near Strawn, Livingston Co. She had been an active member of the M.E. Church for near half a century. The funeral took place at the M.E. Church in this city Friday forenoon, Rev., P. A. Crist conducting the services, assisted by Rev. S. Wood of the Whitefield church, at which there was a large attendance of friends of the deceased and the family. Rev. Mr. Ferris also occupied a seat in the pulpit. She was buried in the old graveyard north of the seminary."
taken from the Henry Republican April 1, 1875, Marshall Co. Ill.
