Dempsey Rasco, 12, mw, b. Ill
Peter Rasco, 10, mw, b. Ill
Thomas Rasco, 08, mw, b. Ill
James Dicky, 40, mw, Laborer b. Ind.
Alex (????), 23, mw, Laborer b. Vir.
Anna Real, 32, fw, ____ B. Ill.
I cannot locate this family in any other censuses, before or after the 1870 census shown above. Dempsey Rasco, sr. gave his birth place as Tennessee. I do not find a Dempsey Rasco or variation to this name in any counties in Tennessee between the 1830 - 1930 census. Nor can I find Dempsey Rasco or his family in any censuses of Illinois between 1850 and 1930 other then the 1870 census shown above. I have checked all the censuses and records on Ancestry.com, Rootsweb.com, and GenForum for Dempsey or any of his sons and cannot locate any of them prior to or after the 1870 census. It's as if they came out of no place and then disappeared from the records.
Can anyone tell me who Dempsey Rasco's parents were and what became of him after the 1870 census. What became of this wife and sons? Where they born in Madison County or some other county in Illinois? Did they died in Madison County? Since Dempsey was listed as a farmer, did he own land in Madison County? Was Dempsey or any of his sons married in Madison County and if so when and to whom?
