Cemetary Help
The history of Madison County 1886 shows G.A. Schmiz jeweler/watchmaker in the town of Bethalto.I know he died on May 10 1893 and was buried on May 12, 1893, Bethalto. In the funeral directory his name is listed as Adolph Smitz. My Aunt says there is a headstone, but she cannot recall the name of the cemetary. Have not found his name in the pre-1910 death database for the State of Illinois.I imagine he would have been buried in a Catholic cemetary. There was a Catholic church at the corner of what is now Prairie and 140 in Bethalto that burned to the ground in 1886, does anyone know of a cemetary associated with it?
