I have a female named "Synth" TARPLEY. I do not know what Synth is short for. She married Edward WILSON and I know of 3 children: Fannie, Meadia, and Mary Ann who was born 3 Jan 1843 in Lukin, Lawrence Co. Ill. Mary Ann WILSON married James WRIGHT in 1862 Emsley's Hill, Lukin, Lawrence Co. Ill Do you think there might be a connection?
Though your message doesn't say anything about Lawrence co it is posted on the Lawrence Co site...so here is hoping!
