Henry Wollenweber, Oswego, 1878, OUCH!
The Saint Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Review, June 15, 1878, Neighboring News: Let this be a warning to all who wear silver rings of unusual size: Henry Wollenweber, in the employ of Wm. Parker of Oswego, had been in the habit of wearing a heavy silver ring. While working about the barn a few days since, he shut a door from where he had to jump a foot or two to reach the floor, in doing which, the ring caught upon a hook, tearing off a part of the finger and pulling out the cord from clear up to the elbow.(Posted as a courtesy, not related.)
