Earliest Catholic Church in Iroquois County [adjoining Kankakee County] is St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, L'Erable, Illinois. I did this volume: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, L'Erable, Illinois 1856-1879 and it gives 2 October 1864 baptism of Louis Matthias Proulx [Prew]born 29 September 1864 to Louis Proulx [Prew] and Marie Durand; godparents were Maxime Normandin and Balbine Proulx. That is the only entry concerning Maxime and Balbine. St. Mary's Catholic Church, Beaverville, Illinois [another early Iroquois County Church 1859-1882 shows no entries for Maxime or Balbine. No entries in St. Anne Catholic Church, Kankakee County, Illinois for Normandin, Proulx or Lamont. Another early Catholic Church in Kankakee County is St. George CAtholic Church in St. George, Illinois, which is just north of Bourbonnais, Illinois. However, those church records are not published yet [photocopied, but not translated and transcribed - hopefully next year]. Norma Meier
