Males Born in Kankakee County in 1879

My grandfather, John Armstrong Brumley, was born in Kankakee, IL Nov. 8, 1879 according to his SS App. & Death Certificate. Parents: David Brumley and Sarah Gage. Supposedly, he was a foundling left on doorstep of widow Sarah Brumley (aka Bromley, Brumly). She & her widowed daughter, Sarah Matson, gave him the name of John Armstrong Brumley. I was told that his birth mother tried to kidnap him when he was 7 years old, and his birth name was Phillip Fontaine. I am hoping there is a boy born Nov 8, 1979 in Kankakee and that it lists his parents. I already checked the 1880 birth records. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. My email address is: rockingranny@cox.net
