Bertha Rascoe (aka Roscoe

Bertha Rascoe was born in Jackson County Illinois about 1887. She was a daughter of Thomas L. Rascoe and Caroline Jennie Satterfield. She had four siblings: Minnie Rascoe, born about 1885, married about 1912 to Harry Coleman Atherton, lived in Chicago, died about 1973; Emma Rascoe, born about 1893, married about 1924 to Robert G. Barbour, died about 1949, buried in Oakland Cemetery at Carbondale, Ill; Beulah Rascoe born 5 June 1895, married David Woods, resided in Murphyboro, Ill, died about August 1985, buried in Oakland Cemetery Carbondale, Ill; Theodore Rascoe born and died sometimes between 1900 and 1910 possibly in Tennessee, buried in Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale, Ill.

Bertha Rascoe was a contestant for the Cabondale Carnival Queen according to the Carbondale Free Press of 9 October 1905. Bertha Rascoe was still single and living in the household of her mother with her three sister in the 1910 census of Jackson County, Carbondale Twp., Ward #1, ED # 45, sheet 7-a.

Bertha's mother, Caroline Jennie (Satterfield) was born in North Carolina in 1858 but was raised and married in Jackson County, Illinois 15 Oct. 1884 to Thomas L. Rascoe. In the 1900 census, Thomas and his family resided in Lauderdale County, Tennessee. Sometimes before September of 1906, Thomas Rascoe disappeared and was reported to have been killed while on a business trip to Memphis, Tennessee.
Apparently the report was incorrect as Thomas Rascoe who changed his name to Roscoe was in New Orleans, La. where he married Lillie Eiswirth on 29 Sept. 1906.

Bertha Rascoe's maternal grandparents were Jacob "Jake" Satterfield and Elvira Katherine "Kate" (Bancom). Jake died and Kate married her 2nd husband, Elliot H. Sykes 9 June 1879 in Jackson County. Bertha's parental grandparents were Marcus L. Rascoe and Mary Davis of Tennessee.

Bertha is the only one of the siblings I have not been able to account for after the 1910 Census. Did she married and if so, when, where and to whom? Did she die unmarried? If so when and where and where is she buried?

Any help will be appreciated.
