I am looking for information on the following families.
FOSTER, WEATHERS, BUTLER, WYATT, CHAPLIN/CHAPLAIN. Mostly they are from Jackson co, Il. But may have connections to Williamson co, Il and Poinsett co Ark.
William FOSTER born ?, married Julia Ann BUTLER, date unknown. Died 16 Jan 1861 per probate record. Her parents are Cyrus BUTLER and Nancy. I don't know where or how this William FOSTER died. They had two children Mary and William Clinton FOSTER. I have no information on who this William FOSTER's parents are or where they came from. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
William Clinton FOSTER was born 16 Feb 1861 in Jackson co Il and died 29 July 1918 in Poinsett co, Ark. He first married Ollie (Olive) Jane WEATHERS 16 Sept 1885 in Makanda, Jackson co, Il. Her father and mother are William R. WEATHERS and Eliza Jane Oaks. William Clinton and Ollie FOSTER had three children I think...Edward Harrison, Flora Ethel, and Charley. I don't know what happened to Ollie Jane FOSTER. She sort of disappears from the census and I haven't found a death record yet.
In the 1900 census her children Flora, Eddie, and Charley FOSTER are living with their grandpa William R. WEATHERS.
William Clinton FOSTER remarried 31 July 1895 to Francis A. RAINES in Murphysboro, Il. They are living in Jackson co, Il in the 1900 census and have 3 children...Harry, Homer, and Mary. (WHY isn't his children from first marriage living with him?) They are next found in the 1910 and 1920 census in Poinsett Co, ark. Sometimes these census records are hard to read but here's my best shot at their children...Lilliam M, Melvia, Dannal/Dale N, Irene, Jamie, Hayle, Johnny, Clenton, and baby. Willaim and Francis are both buried in Walker Cemetery, Poinsett co, Ark. as are some of their children.
William Clinton FOSTER and Ollie Jane WEATHERS son Edward Harrison FOSTER was born 20 Jan 1884. He married Alice WYATT on 14 Oct 1910. Her parents are David Louis WYATT and Esther Ellen CHAPLIN/CHAPLAIN. I have hardly any information on the WYATT'S or CHAPLAINS. Their children were Andy, James Harold, Leonard Edward, William Eugene, Alma, Dorothy, Wilbur, Fred, and Margie. Alice WYATT was married once before to a VARNER. They had one son that I know of named Lee. Edward Harrison FOSTER died 2 Dec 1968 and Alice FOSTER died 25 May 1967. They are both burried in Worthern Cemetery in Murphysboro.
Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? I'm stumped at this point. I did find a family tree with some of these ancestors of mine that said they went to arkansas in a covered wagon.
