Joseph Fry was born in Bourbon county Ky. Oct. 16, 1806. His education was acquired in the district school of his native state, and when a young man he learned the trade of a bricklayer and stone mason which pursuits he followed for a number of years. In 1865 he emigrated with his family to Illinois, and located in Hancock County. His second son was named Joseph Fry Jr.born Aug. 6,1860 in Missouri. Theyounger Fry was married twice (1) Mary M. Harris 1/18/1883 of LaHarpe twp.daughter of Isaac and Mary (Atwater) harris. one child Leomie. mary died 6/1/1892. Youngh Joseph married (2) Miss Freddie B. Duncan 2/1/1893 daughter of John and Margaret A. (Chapin) Duncan. page 193-194 of the book" Portrait and Bioraphical record of Hanock McDonough and Henderson counties"
