Truman Huff's 1st marriage - m. Elizabeth Holton, ch. John Francis and May Belle

I'm looking for information on Truman Hobart Huff's first marriage. His second marriage and descendants of that union seem to be well represented on the Internet, while I have found little on his first marriage.

The Illinois marriage index shows that he married Elizabeth R. Holton on 19 December 1864. In the 1870 census, he is shown in Saint Marys Township with Elizabeth, son John F (age 4) and daughter May B. (age 2, my wife's gg-grandmother). In the 1880 census, these children are shown in Truman's parents' home as Francis (age 13) and Mary (age 10).

May Belle (frequently referred to as Mary Belle) married George W. Roberts about 1892, and they had 8 children together (more or less) according to census records. Both had previous marriages according to census records, but I'm not sure of their identities. It does not appear that May/Mary had children with her first husband, while it appears George had three children with his first wife.

I have not found anything regarding John Francis Huff past the 1880 census. I thought perhaps he died a young man, and is possibly buried near his mother. Any information concerning Elizabeth (Holton) Huff and her children would be appreciated.
