I have Moses Polley Cavan who died at White Hall IL November 12, 1887 at age 48. This is from a family document but Moses' death is not in the Illinois database (which I know to be very incomplete so this isn't a surprise). Anyone familiar with Greene County research---what other sources of possible information are there? Was there a newspaper? Is there an old Death Book at the courthouse? Census is no help as on the 1880 Census he was living in Pike CO. I would like to know anything about the circumstances of his death, or where he is buried---anything. Thanks.
