I am looking for any information on Samuel Tucker... I have heard that his middle name was Alexander but have no verification of that... According to census records he was born 1800 in TN... The same person that stated his middle name also said that he was born in Anderson... I looked the other day and thought I had read that Anderson county wasn't established until 1810??? Samuel married Cynthia Chapman... again I have no place or date for this marriage but US and International Marriage Index on ancestry.com says the marriage happened in the state of Illinois. There is no listing of this marriage on the Illinois Marriage Index. I first found Samuel in 1840 census in Rawling,Greene, Illinois. There is obvisously some siblings of either Samuel or Cynthia (or both) and a parent of one of them also. I do not have access to the census records for 1830 Greene so not sure if they are there or not. According to the 1810 census, there is a Tucker in Rutherford County. His name is James Tucker. Samuel's first son was James B. Tucker. With reading naming traditions, usually the first child is named after the grandfather. If this is true, this possibly could be the father of Samuel. There is a male listed in the age group that Samuel would be in... If there is anyone that could shed some light on this family, I would be appreciative. Thanks for your time and help!
