I saw where you also inquired about an Ethelinda Miller from Preble County, OH. A number of people from there migrated to Edgar County, IL. Two Dinkins girls were sent to Edgar County to live with Samuel and Martha Miller Stubbs. She was their aunt and from Preble County, OH. They had a brother and nephew named John Miller. John W. Dinkins was living with his uncle and aunt Harrison and Hannah Miller in Preble County, OH in the 1860 Census. He died in the Civil War. His two brothers Anderson Asbury and William Fletcher Dinkins settled in Edgar County, IL after the war. They were born in Preble County, OH. Another sister married Thomas Landes of Edgar County, IL. They are also related to the Links and Edwards. The Edgar County Genealogy library is a great source to link these families together. The Dinkins children's mother was Eliza Ann Miller. There is a lot more to the story, but if you look up these names, maybe you can find a clue to your Miller. The Dinkins children were orphaned at a young age and sent to relatives, so some of the history has had to be pieced together. Edgar County cares about history, so you are in luck there. I also am hoping to find more on the Millers from Preble County who ended up in Edgar County. Would love to hear from you!
