Could BUCk have been a city 100 years ago?? I found info that my GG Grandparents lived in city of Buck Paris Twnship Edgar Co Illinois 1860's. After that it was always Paris Twnship ETC.hello all ADAMS researchers.
I quess I can Add another Thomas Jefferson Adams to the growing list. Illinois Adams were LARGE FAMILY-IES
TJ married Isabella Scroggs, one of their children was Margaret Jane "Maggie" sometimes called MerryBelle? She wasn't on 1880 census. She married Patrick J Kennedy 1881 in Pulaski Co. Arkansas. Maggie was teaching at Indian School 21 Y/O living with Abner & Dora Flint. We don't know relation???? TJ and Isabella were still in Buck/Paris Edgar Co Illinios. At one point they had another daughter Mary B. much youner than Maggie.
There is reportedly still many Adams (distantly related) living in that area.
Pat & Maggie's son was Johnathan "seedee" "Dewy" Charles
(later life used Charles D. Kennedy ( my grandfather).
Pat and Maggie were in Roe/Devalls Bluff Ark Area @ Ulmvillage. At one point during indian Removal there were some 25,000 native americans emcamped there to keep them out of Little Rock, because of cholera epeidemic.
I am very interested in the Edgar Co Ill. Adam families.
In an 150 y/o family bible it refers to some serious disguist that Patrick brought native american blood into the Irish SanGrall Kennedy Bloodline. PERSONALLY I am rather proud of it!!! The Irish Kennedys were Presbyterian Missionaries sent to Arkansas to educate & civilize the Native Amnericans. A.R. Married Marion Susan Wilson ( Woodrow Wilson's older sister, they settled in batesville Ark. Some Adams went to Missouri for a year or so then returned to Paris Ill.
I really don't know where the Adams original came from........
