I am trying to find more information on these familys. I may have found a hole in my brick wall searching for my John Sylvestor Davis born March 1st 1857 in Webster, Ill. John's daughter, Alcie and her husband were found in Pilot Grove, Illinois in the 1910 census. John and wife was than found in Hamilton, Ill. A friend sent me the following census of 1910 Davis familys. It may be that they are all siblings (One sister in law)

1910 IL,Hancock,Pilot Grove
Davis,thomas e.49 mo/oh/in
minnie e 30 mo/ia/in
bertha 11 il/mo/mo
gertie 9 il/mo/mo
beulah 8 il/mo/mo
bessie 4 il/mo/mo
vera 10mons il/mo/mo

Davis,James 45 wd. il/oh/in

Davis,Mrs HattieV. 41
Roy W. son 21m il/il/il
ida d 19s il/il/il
virgie a d/inlaw 22 m il/il/il

I than did an 1880 census search for James Davis born 1865, above and found the below family. To my surprise their is also a John Davis about my Johns age. I just now need the proof that it is the same John.

Census Place Embarras, Edgar, Illinois
Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace
Branson DAVIS Self M Male W 44 IL Farmer TN TN
Eunis DAVIS Wife M Female W 38 IL Keeping House KY KY
John DAVIS Son S Male W 22 IL TN KY
William DAVIS Son S Male W 20 IL Works On Farm TN KY
James DAVIS Son S Male W 15 IL Works On Farm TN KY
Charles DAVIS Son S Male W 9 IL Works On Farm TN KY
Edith DAVIS Dau S Female W 1 IL TN KY
Emma STUBBS Other S Female W 11 IL Works In House IL IL

Although it shows Branson being born in Ill. i have found differance states Johns father was born at in each census he was found in. (1900, 1910 and 1920) The 1910 has the same as the other Davis men. And if you notice for these children, the parents have Ill as birthplace yet they have the grandparents birthplaces if they are correct.

Hoping someone would recognize these familys.
