I'd like to exchange family history with any descendants of George Henry Gibbs, or his sister, Cora B. Gibbs who were at Douglas Co, IL from 1900-mid 1920s. George & Cora arrived at Newman, IL with their parents, William Gibbs & Lucinda Johnson in 1900, George married there 1903 to Lillian Eva McQueen, d/o William McQueen. He had 1 sibling only - a half sister, Cora Belle Gibbs who also married at Douglas Co, IL in 1903 to George Swank. George & Eva had 3 children, Lois, Edith & Paul Gibbs. The family left Newman to live at Indianapolis, Indiana shortly before he died in 1929. His Father, William died a year before, also at Indianapolis, IN 1928. George was born at Washington Co, IN 1875, moved to Sullivan Co, IN by 1900 then moved on to Newman, IL later in 1900. George & Cora B. Gibbs Swank moved to Missouri by the 1930s. - Thank you, Allan Griffith, Bloomington, IL - email as of 2004= magrif@verizon.net
