1818 Trip
Posted by: Roger Herrick (ID *****8196) Date: October 05, 2005 at 10:58:42

Hi, I recently found out that my ancestor (Ozias Hart) made a trip to Crawford County, IL in 1818 from Chautauqua County, New York. He was only there a couple of months. There's nothing about him in the BLM records. I don't see why he would have made the lengthy trip (600 miles) with his son by horseback unless he was buying land. Any other ideas?
