Kathleen,

OMGosh, you are good! Harry V. Martin is my grandfather and all of the info. is right on the money. Iona Farringer was his first marriage. My dilemma is that I was told (by my Mother) that Harry's Mother is Elizabeth Scanlon/Scanlan however I have just found Harry's birth record showing his mother to be Elizabeth Barnes. His mothers death record and cemetery record both say that she was born in Pulman, IL. Any ideas?

William Martin m Elizabeth Scanlon/Scanlan or Barnes
b abt 1859 Pulman, IL
d 5/23/1887 Cinci, OH (St. Joseph's Cem)
Children;
William Martin b abt 1881 Cinci, OH
d 4/15/1886, Cinci, OH
St. John's Cemetery)
Harry V. Martin b 1/14/1884 Cinci, OH
d 10/17/1977 ""

The genealogy has turned out to be much different than the family stories! I am at a loss as to how to track info. on Harry's parents. The only info that I have on Harry's father is as per the cemetery...he purchased a section there. I don't find him in the 1880 Census. Apparently from abt 1880-1882 Elizabeth Don't know about William) was living in a boarding house run by a Cochran family. Elizabeth was there until her death, after which , Harry was raised by the Cochran family. I have records for that Cochran family from 1850-1940. Harry was a author, report.... One of the stories he wrote (that I believe was about him) indicates that his Mother was a niece of Cecilia Cochran. I am now attempting to track down her siblings and their children. Errr...most of my lines have been so much easier...lol. Thanks for your info. and again, any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated.

Casaundra
