I found one while I was at the Mattoon Public Library.
Bertha Grove-Charleston- bertha May Grove, 90, of Charleston died at 8:45p.m. Tuesday in the Charleston Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Harper-Swickard Chapel. Burial will be in the Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 11a.m. until funeral time on Saturday.
Mrs. Grove was born July 15, 1889, in Coles County, a daughter of James and Mahala Adkins Parkison. She married John W. Grove on May 20, 1913, in Charleston. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1973.
Survivors include two sons, James of Charleston and Jack of Highland, Calif.; a brother, Victor Parkinson of Charleston; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Grove was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charleston.
