More Lucretia: The will of John True was written Oct. 18, 1860, and provides funds for Louisa (middle initial V or N) and Susan A Shearwood (as spelled in the will), his granddaughters and heirs of Lucretia E. Ellis, his daughter. He also left money to his daughter Philadelphia G. Ellis. I know from other sources that her middle name was Gholson. The name Gholson seems to have been used in each generation of this family. A generous man named Bill Hendren gave me a copy of the will. He is a Mattoon historian.
