Laura,
I am researching the Walker family from Clay county. I think there was more than one Walker family in Clay county so I dont know if this would be the same family.
My great grandmother was Emma Josephine (Josie) Walker (1880-1943) She married Cashie Krutsinger (date of marriage unknown but probably 1897 based on birth date of first child) Josie was the daughter of James B Walker and Inez Lenora Segeser. Josie's obit states the she lived her entire life in Songer township. Josie had two sisters Hayden and Bernice. No brothers.
James was the son of Price Walker(1819-1882) and Blanche Ingersol. From census records it apears that James' siblings include William W., Thomas B., Sarah A., and Martha E.
It appears this family moved from Shelby County, Ohio to Clay County,IL sometime between 1870 & 1880.
Price Walker is buried in Oskaloosa Cemetery. I have not yet located where James is buried at.
Any of this sound familiar?
Please feel free to e-mail me direct at [email protected]
Thanks, Ron Hanks
