Johnny Bond:
Your post on the Rogers families of Clay County Illinois interests me. You mention William Bond. I believe he was the father of Rowena and Mary Bond who all lived in Clay County, Blair Township in the late 1840's. The Rogers family lived there too in early census records.
Does your family have a history of a feud with the Osborn Family of that region? Some of my ancestors were charged with attacking Mary Bond in her own home. Also when a man named Thomas Pettyjohn shot my gg grandfather, John C. Osborn, William Bond was called to testify on behalf of Pettyjohn. The Rogers were neighbors to Sewell Heflin (John C. Osborn's wife's family.) and Pettyjohn.
