Joseph SPENCER and Nancy STANLEY ca 1850 - 1860

Would appreciate any information regarding the above family and their history in Clay County. They were married in Edwards County, IL in August of 1848, but were in the 1850 Census of Clay County.

Did they own land there? What was their religion at the time? Is there a daughter, Harriet, possibly buried in a Catholic cemetery? Joseph was the son of John 'Jack' Jackariah and Elizabeth Kershaw Spencer of Edwards County, Illinois, a Catholic family from Lancashire, England.

Was there any familial ties to the families of the other Spencers in Clay County: Charles V. Spencer, Henry Spencer, Jesse W. Spencer, John Spencer, Willima E. Spencer, Catherine Spencer, Elizabeth Spencer, Mary Spencer, Ora Victoria Spencer or Rebecca C. Spencer?

Any information will be appreciated.
