Brenda, Alfred Labbee was in Randolph Co., IL in 1840 before settling in Belleview, where he was a neighbor of my ancestor, James Johnson. James was born in 1803 in Nashville, TN, but lived in MO from 1831 to about 1840 before migrating to Randolph Co., IL and then on to Calhoun. Because James seemed to follow Alfred from MO to Randolph, IL to Calhoun, IL, I am wondering if they were related. Alfred was French Canadian and I am exploring the possiblilty that James was also of French descent (the son of Julienne Boucher Demonbreun of Kaskaskia, IL). James' daughter, Barbary Johnson, was married to Alfred's brother-in-law, Taylor Reynolds. Please e-mail me if you would like more information.
