Wanting information about my great grandparents THomas McKenzie/McKinzie and Margaret McCormick. Their daughter Margaret Ellen (my grandmother) was born Aug 22 1896, possibly in Belvidere,Il. Her mother Margaret was born 1862 & died 1919 (according to the headstone pic my mom has). Family story says Thomas abandoned the family after 1891. A fellow genealogist sent me 1900 census info. Margaret Ellen (Wheaton,IL) married Hiram Smith (Elburn,IL) at St Michaels Rectory,Wheaton,IL 9-2-1922. The lived in Cook CO, Dupage CO, Kane CO. We know most of her history after her marriage but nothing prior. Can anyone help ? Oh yes, she may have had another brother who died very young...no other info.
