Dear Nancy,
Good to hear that you found Boone County. It can be difficult but not impossible. I don't know if Flora Cemetery is a location or not. If it were me, I'd try the Ida Public Library first. They have a "Genealogy Room." I would tell them where to start looking as you have me. In the "Genealogy Room" I believe they keep records of people buried in the various cemeteries, some are furnished by the cemeteries themselves, others come from people or persons "walking the cemetries." I know that there has been a lot of vandalism, but believe you might have some luck as I did several years ago. I have a distant ancestor (4X great grandfather) buried at Blood's Point Cemetery, for example whom I never would have found due to the location of the cemetery and the rampant vandalism except by someone walking the cemetery! You are welcome, of course, to always try the Historical Society of Boone County. The Ida Public Library is located at and their phone number is: 320 North Main Street, Belvidere, Illinois. Phone: 815/544-3838. The Historical Society can be reached at: 311 Whitney Blvd., Belvidere, Illinois 6l008. Phone: 815/544-8391. It is possible they have the same information and would be able to help you. I have gone there years ago and found that they have in their possession many old pictures--some identified and some not. I wish I were in "shape" to help you, but am not, as I have my husband drive me everywhere these days. Do you live in Nebraska? I have a cousin who lives in Nebraska, and works as a registerned nurse; the great grandfather spoken of above would also be hers. Neva
