LARRABEE-CARPENTER/ca 1890/Greenville
A romantic story, maybe: my great-grandmother was widowed and left with a baby in 1888 and I think she may have lived in or around Greenville after she brought her husband's body back to Bond CO for burial at Montrose Cemetery. She remarried four years later in 1892. The man she married was a professional photographer; census confirms that that was his occupation until he reached old age. I have a lot of "studio" photographs of her baby (my grandmother) through infancy and early childhood. I am wondering if that could be how my great-grandmother met her second husband---if perhaps he was the photographer who took her baby's pictures. There's no 1890 census, so does anyone have any ideas about this? Is there a business directory of Greenville, or would there be ads in old newspapers? The names of the couple were Jane (Jennie) Larrabee and Charles Carpenter. Thanks for any help. [email protected]
