I am a descendent of Elisha Meek and Mary Miller/Short, the parents of Delilah Meek, who married William Iiams (1792-1869) from Washington County, PA.
I am rather new at "ancestor searching", but have very good documentation back to Elisha and Mary.
I read, a long time ago, that Elisha was his middle name, but I could find nowhere that he was not listed as Elisha. Do you have any sort of documentation that his first name was William? If so, I think I know who his father was. Elisha has been my "brick wall" for somw time.
I have always believed that Mary's last name was Miller, but always find her last name listed as Short. Do you have any information on this?
