Noelle, from various records, the Iiams that first settled in Maryland has a variety of spellings for the surname, Eyoms, Ijams, Ijames. "Iams" or "Imes" was not found in the early records. As to the connection to the Innes, some earlier researchers believed that there was a connection and other will argue this point. Arguments never resolved a problem. To offer more tangeable evidence would be a great contribution to all that are trying to find the answer. That is what this message board represents, a discussion group offering views and comments. I believe that there is a connection!
