Hi James, was hoping I might hear from you on this particular mystery. My line is down through William II, b. 27 Jan. 1785, d. 26 Jan. 1858,. Who married a Ruth (?) b. 1788, d. 12 June 1853, they married in 1808. This William is my GGG Grandfather and a brother to you GGG Grandmother Rachel. Have no documentation supporting William I’s wife being Elizabeth. May have pick that up from Rootsweb’s Worldconnect Project: Mills/Shea Ancestry and Their Descendants. You might try this e-mail address for more clarification I also will be doing the same: Wendy Shea, at Myhartinpa@bellsouth.net Wendy may be able to steer us in the right direction. I was born and raised in the Cumberland, MD., area and know the Iiams Family Cemetery, on Town Creek very well, have been there many times over the years with my father Ralph Ernest Imes. After my fathers parents pass away at very young ages (Millard and Dora Belle Imes) my father was raised for a while by his great-uncle Amos Iiams, b. 1854, d. 1930 and aunt Susan (Bennett) Iiams, b. 1859, d. 1941. Amos farmed the old Iiams homestead along Town Creek, Bedford County, PA. Mary Ann Iiams, my fathers grandmother and Amos were brother and sister. I agree with you 100%, I have not found a tombstone or any type of marker with a Richard Iiams, in the Iiams Family Cemetery on Town Creek. I also have a copy of William I’s Will where in be bequeathed most of his real and personal property (which was quite substantial) to his eldest son Amos and his youngest son Jesse. I see where my William was Willed land in Bedford County, PA., and your Rachel was Willed One Hundred and thirty dollars. Would like to see your copy of William’s Will. What I have is a retyped copy. Would like to talk more with you on this William the 1st mystery. My e-mail address is rroyimes@yahoo.com
