Hi Carole,
There certainly are quite a few people trying to find the parents of John Frederick Iiams [Ijams].
Walter Gree Imes m. Mary Elizabeth Hall
James C. Imes m. Augusta Brown
James H. Imes m. Catherine P. ?
John Frederick Imes m. Mary Polly Eads
John Frederick Iiams [Ijams] m. Mary Johnson

The wife of one of your husband's deceased uncles may be right with saying the Hill and Iiams are related. Could you elaborate on these persons? Names etc. This certainly would make things easy and they will fall in place better.

According to Harry Wright Newman, A.A.Gentry, 1933, he lists children of Thomas Iiams 1708 and have been proved in a family Bible as of 1935 was the possession of Miss Meriweather Waters.
1] Elizabeth b. 1732; 2] Sarah b. 1734; 3] Artridge b. 1736]
4] Charity b. 1739; 5] Susanna b. 1742; 6] Thomas b. 1745 and m. Mary Iiams and Sarah Marriott [proved by court records]; 7] John Iiams b. 1747 married Susannah Taylor Watkins [proved by court papers]; 8] Richard b. 1749 m. Eleanor Musgrove; 9] Mary Iiams b. 1752 m. a Thomas Iiams, not her brother; 10] William Iiams, born 1755 m. Charity Ryan. On his will, he mentions, John, Thomas, Richard & william. The marriage of William to Charity Ryan is in question as to whether or not he was the right William?

I believe that the DOB of John Frederick Iiams [Ijams] fits in better with John Iiams and Ariana Worthington. John's family moved towards Tennessee and Alabama and the southern states which would seem more likely that John [the subject] would have also done so. When John Iiams [m. Arinia Worthing] died, the executor died and then the executor's son took over the estate. Since his estate was fumbled from day one and no children were named in this will.

I would be interested in anything that you have. I do have loads of data. Roberta
