2nd Message, lost first, sorry if this is a duplicate!
John George Ely Sr., my relative was born in 1825, Kempten, Bavaria. He immg. to New York City, md. Eliza REHNER, 1854. Children John George ELY Jr. b.1858, Urbana, IL. USA. William ELY, b. 1859-60.
Elise (Eliza REHNER) and husband John George IHLE (ELY, alias JEHLE) are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Urbana, Champagin, IL. Have visited gravesite. There is a brief history printed of Early Settlers of Champaign Co. Of which this family is listed. They had a horse-carriage business of which John and several sons worked. It was named ELY. Have letterhead etc. handed down from family. Haven't found anything on Eliza REHNER. Supposedly she md. in New York City, but now thinking possibly from York, PA. They md. 1854, unable to locate license; prior to vital records in New York. Have large pic/photo of her. Appears to be of dark complection. Wearing Indian Jewelry. Any tips? Will be glad to share what family info I have. Anxious to hear-back.
